I LOVE babywearing and LÍLLÉbaby is my family’s carrier of choice. In fact, when helping a first time mom with her baby registry, a good structured baby carrier, like the LÍLLÉbaby, is one of my top items. I recommend a structured carrier for first time parents because they are fast to put on and very user-friendly. Babywearing greatly benefits for both parents and their little ones. It enables parents to keep their babies close and happy around the house and when they’re out on the go.
When we were expecting our first born my husband and I tried on several structured carriers. LÍLLÉbaby’s quality, comfort, versatility, and adjustability made it hands down the best carrier for us. Since we were expecting a summer baby we choose the LÍLLÉbaby Complete Airflow. Fast forward a couple of years we now have two little ones and still love carrying them in the LÍLLÉbaby. In this LÍLLÉbaby carrier review we’ll look at the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons and LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn.
Complete All Seasons Overview
LÍLLÉbaby’s Complete All Seasons baby carrier retails for $160. It offers six carry-configurations:
- Front- toddler
- Hip and Back carry
[Tweet “The LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons has several features that make it a wonderful ride for your little one.”] The LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons has several features that make it a wonderful ride for your little one. The liner’s temperature-control panel truly makes this an “all seasons” carrier. On cooler days keep the center 100% cotton panel zipped closed. When the weather heats up simply unzip the panel to expose breathable, 3D mesh. The carriers’ sun hood snaps to the shoulder straps ensuring that baby is protected from the elements. To support infants the carrier’s neck support easily buckles up on one or both sides. An extra tall, extendable torso makes the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons carrier comfortable for older babies up to petite toddlers.
The carrier is also loaded with features that make it comfortable for the person carrying. Its lumbar support, wide waist belt, and padded shoulder straps all play important roles in the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons’ ergonomic design. The “two-way strap” feature provide excellent support and alignment for backpack style or front carrying. Dual-adjustment buckles makes adjusting on the go and nursing while carrying easy. There is even a handy zipper pocket on the front panel large enough to hold a small wallet.
My take? Like I said before, LÍLLÉbabies are my husband and my carrier of choice and I am very impressed with the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons. Since my kids and I love babywearing we need a supportive carrier. The LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons ergonomic design truly makes extended and frequent babywearing possible.
[Tweet “One of the things that sets LÍLLÉbaby above other carriers on the market for my family is its adjustability. “] One of the things that sets LÍLLÉbaby above other carriers on the market for my family is its adjustability. There is a 16 inch height difference between my husband and me. He’s 6’5″ and I’m just 5’1” so we need a carrier that works well for both of us! Being able to tighten the shoulder strap another inch or so would be ideal for my petite frame, however, overall the carrier can be adjusted to comfortably fit me and my gentle giant of a husband.
Another thing I love about the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons is its versatility. The temperature control panel is genius and oh so handy in the summer time when I constantly babywear outside. How else would I take my baby and two year old to the park? The six carry-configurations make LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons a carrier I can use for years. My daughter loved snuggling and snoozing in the front fetal hold when she was a newborn. Now she is 12 lbs and prefers the front infant carry. I can also use the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons as a toddler carrier for my two year old son. More on that when I compare LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons to LÍLLÉbaby’s toddler carrier, the CarryOn.
Finally, I love the LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons detailed design. Everything from the features to the function, from the look to the feel of this carrier has clearly been carefully designed and executed. For example, there are discreet tabs on the shoulder straps under which one can tuck the neck support buckles when they’re not in use. The carrier’s look is sleek and is available in a variety of colors and prints. For my carrier, I chose “The Guncles” print. Not only is it a fun gender-neutral print, but a portion of the proceeds benefit the Independent Adoption Center (I.A.C.). Goodness, the good people at LÍLLÉbaby really do think of everything! The LÍLLÉbaby Complete All Seasons is a completely wonderful all purpose carrier.
LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn Overview
The LÍLLÉbaby CarryON is designed specifically for toddlers 20 – 60 lbs. Like the Complete All Seasons it retails for $140-180 depending on the style and print. The LÍLLÉbaby CarryON offers three carry-configurations:
The CarryOn has the same features as the LÍLLÉbaby Complete, that ensure both toddler and the person carrying are comfortable. Its roomy torso measures 20″ by 17.5″. There is also an additional adjustment buckle on the top of each shoulder strap. Since my two-year-old son is such a little heater we opted for the LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn AIR in Blue/Aqua.
My Take? First off all LÍLLÉbaby products are well constructed, made of quality materials, easy to care for, and easy to use, which is key for any product designed for toddlers. I’ll be honest, before I had a toddler I didn’t understand the need for a toddler carrier. Being a toddler, after all, means the little one can walk, right? Well one of my son, Triple A’s, favorite expressions is, “carry me.” As strikingly independent as toddlers can be they still need a lot of reassurance and holding. This was especially true for us when Triple A became a big brother. Carrying a toddler frequently and/or for extended periods of time can be a pain, literally speaking. The CarryOn makes toddler carrying easy.
Staying true to LÍLLÉbaby’s quality and design, I appreciate the CarryOn’s adjustability. This carrier works great for both my husband and me. The breathable, 3D mesh is cool, light weight, and durable. I love that it is comfortable and very supportive for both Triple A and me. He loves to ride “koala” or “kangaroo” (back or front.) With Triple A’s stamp of approval, the LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn indeed enables me to carry on even when I’m carrying big brother.
Complete vs. CarryOn
My husband and I tested and compared carrying Triple A in the Complete and CarryOn. While we can carry Triple A in both the Complete and CarryOn, the CarryOn is definitely more comfortable for the toddler and the adult carrying, especially if you are short me. The CarryOn has some unique support features. Its waist belt is wider. On the torso panel there is extra padding where the child’s thighs rest. Triple A didn’t seem to mind being in the Complete; however, when asked which one he preferred he choose the CarryOn. I say if you do a lot of toddler carrying a LÍLLÉbaby CarryOn would be a good investment.
I hope you found my LÍLLÉbaby carrier review helpful. There are a lot of carriers on the market. You want to find the carrier that works best for your family. Remember most retailers will let you try on carriers before purchasing. Also if you have a chapter in your area, I highly recommend visiting a Babywearers International meeting. In my opinion you can’t go wrong with a LÍLLÉbaby carrier.
