I am receiving an all expense paid trip to Los Angeles by Disney to review and experience The Jungle Book. All opinions are my own and I received no monetary compensation for these opinions.
I’m going to do my best to remain calm and collected; you know, cool as a cucumber. After years of working towards this I can finally say I received a most coveted email with a subject line that read:
Disney invites you to Los Angeles! 4/3 – 4/5
On Sunday, April 3rd, I’ll be flying out to Los Angeles to meet up with 24 other bloggers to cover the red carpet premiere of Disney’s newest live action feature film The Jungle Book! Opening April 15th nationwide Disney’s revisited the animated film with a live action reboot that is sure to be nothing short of spectacular.
Directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man) and starring newcomer Neel Sethi in the role of “Mowgli” The Jungle Book follows the same tale the 1967 animated film version of Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves in a jungle in India. Both the 1967 Disney animated movie and this new live action movie is based on the short stories by Rudyard Kipling which were originally published in magazines between 1893 and 1894…more on that later though. The history of The Jungle Book is fascinating.

While I’m in Los Angeles I’ll be interviewing director Jon Favreau, Neel Sethi (the actor who portrays Mowgli), Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (voice of “Raksha”), Oscar winner Sir Ben Kingsley (voice of “Bagheera”) and Emmy nominated actor Giancarlo Esposito (voice of “Akela”).
The more research I do on The Jungle Book, the various trailers and featurettes that I’ve seen, the more excited I am about the movie. It’s iconic.
While we’re in Los Angeles we’ll be attending a special screening of the new live-action hidden camera Disney XD TV show “Walk the Prank” which premieres on April 6th on Disney XD. The show features live-action scripted comedy interspersed with fully produced unscripted pranks; the show follows an ensemble cast as they plan and execute hilarious over-the-top pranks for an online hidden camera show. After the screening, we’ll go on over to Paramount Studios where we’ll view production for an upcoming episode as well as interview members of the “Walk the Prank” cast.
So follow along live April 3rd through April 5th with me and with the other #JungleBookEvent bloggers by using the hashtag #JungleBookEvent on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms. While I’m in LA I’ll be broadcasting live from First Time Mom’s Periscope channel as well as First Time Mom’s Snapchat (add us – firsttimemommn).
And remember, The Jungle Book opens everywhere in 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D on April 15th!

Tell me, if you were interviewing the stars and director from the movie, what would you ask them?
