I scrolled through my Facebook News Feed early this morning and came upon an “on this day” photo of my oldest in this adorable little pumpkin shirt. The shocking thing? According to Facebook, that picture was taken seven years ago. How on earth was that seven years ago? This, of course, spurred on the search through Halloween’s past. My have we grown! So take a look back with us and while you’re at it, share with us your past Halloween photos!
Brennan’s very first Halloween!
Hold on, man. We don’t go anywhere with “scary,” “spooky,” “haunted,” or “forbidden” in the title. ~From Scooby-Doo
Who knows where our 2009 Halloween picture went? I was actually newly pregnant with our second child when this was taken.
I don’t know that there are real ghosts and goblins, but there are always more trick-or-treaters than neighborhood kids. ~Robert Brault
Kendall’s first Halloween and of course, Brennan was Thomas the Tank Engine.
Charlie Brown is the one person I identify with. C.B. is such a loser. He wasn’t even the star of his own Halloween special. ~Chris Rock
The first Halloween in our new house! The kids were pirates and Ben carved Bob & Larry from VeggieTales into our pumpkins.
There is nothing funny about Halloween. This sarcastic festival reflects, rather, an infernal demand for revenge by children on the adult world…. There is nothing more unhealthy than this childish sorcery, behind all the dressing up and the presents… ~Jean Baudrillard (1929–2007), Amérique, 1986, translated by Chris Turner (America, 1988)
This was our littlest’s first Halloween. Laura’s son, Triple A was a Koala Bear…as was her husband (?) and the Anderson kids were Rapunzel, Dusty Crophopper and a Monkey.
Clothes make a statement. Costumes tell a story. ~Mason Cooley
2015 brought Laura’s daughter, Little Girl’s, first Halloween and she was a strawberry. Triple A was all boy as a pumpkin. The Anderson kids were Spider Man, a Puppy, Elsa and our parents’ dog, Kenai, was well, really quite a sport in that Batdog costume.
