First Time Mom is happy to help introduce you to three new members to the Thirsties line up…
Meet Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted Diaper.
It is comprised of 11 total layers of bamboo cotton, 3 in the body and 8 in the snap in soaker pads. It’s comprised of 70% Rayon from Bamboo/30% Cotton and is designed to fit babies 8-40lbs. With three rise setting this one sized fitted provides a customizable fit from birth to potty. Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted retails for $25.50 and is available in snap closure with a choice of 3 different, color-coordinated stitching/snap combos: Moss, Ocean Blue and Fin. Fitteds are not waterproof so you’ll have to use a cover with Thirsties Natural OS Fitted.
Okay for the sake of full disclosure I need to remind you friends that I work for Thirsties. Still, like I’ve said many times before, I was a Thirsties fan long before starting to work for them. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s continue… When I received Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted in the mail I literally giggled at its softness. I love that the fitted retained this buttery softness after prepping and using the diaper. Being a fitted diaper, this is not waterproof and needs to be paired with some kind of a cover. Naturally Thirsties Duo Wraps and sized Diaper Covers are my go to covers. My daughter is a pip squeak so I have the OS Fitted on the smallest rise setting and second smallest waist snaps. Even at this small configuration it was tricky to fit Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted under their Size 1 Duo Wrap. My Small Thirsties Diaper Cover worked much better.
I like using fitteds at night and Thirsties Natural One Size Fitted is a great nighttime diaper. While my daughter is not a heavy wetter, I was impressed by how much absorbency was still left in the fitted after a full 12 hour night. Not that I think you’ll need it, but there is also room to add inserts or doublers under the Natural Fitteds’ soakers. I would definitely recommend this diapers to folks with heavy wetters.
Meet Thirsties Natural Newborn Fitted Diaper!
Like the Natural OS Fitted, Thirsties Natural Newborn Fitted Diaper is made of the irresistibly soft bamboo cotton. It is designed to fit babies 5-14lbs and has 7 absorbent layers – 3 layers in the body and 4 layers in the snap in soaker pad. Thirsties Newborn Natural Fitted is one of the most absorbent newborn diapers I’ve seen. Like Thirsties snap-closure Newborn AIO, the Natural Newborn Fitted has an umbilical cord snap down which may be used while baby’s cord stump is present or belly button is healing. The Newborn Fitted retails for $17.50 and is available in snap closure with 3 color-coordinated stitching/snap combos: Moss, Ocean Blue and Fin.
Covers and prefolds are my go-to recommendation for cloth diapering newborns. That said, I think Thirsties Natural Newborn Fitted would be a wise addition to a newborn stash. The extra absorbency would be perfect at night when baby starts to sleep for longer stretches. Also fitteds make for easy diaper changes, another most at night with a newborn. Natural fibers are gentle on newborn’s sensitive skin. Finally, fitteds make for blowout bulletproof cloth diapering. With fitteds there are two elastic barriers between your wiggly newborn’s runny poos and their adorable new jammies! I would pair Thirsties Natural Newborn Fitted with a Size 1 Duo Wrap or XS Diaper Cover as I think the Premie/Newborn Cover would be too small to complete cover the newborn fitted.
Meet Thirsties Organic Cotton Doublers !
Thirsties New Organic Cotton Doublers retail $8.00 for a three pack. They are comprised of 4 soft, absorbent layers of 100% organic cotton. These doublers come in 3 different sizes: Newborn – 8.5″H x 3.5″W, Small – 11.75″H x 4.5″W, Large – 13.5″H x 5″W.
Thirsties makes wonderful inserts. Like Thirsties’ popular Hemp Inserts, their new organic cotton doublers are super trim and absorbent. I love how soft they are and that they’re an easy addition to any of the cloth diapers in my stash. $8.00 for a pack of three is an excellent price print for an organic natural fiber option.
