I adore coffee. Aside from a good workout it’s one of the best parts of my day. My friend and roomie, Julie, and I were hanging out at the Keurig display in the Expo Hall on Saturday when one of the reps started talking to me about how I needed a Keurig. Now, I know all of the reasons why I need a Keurig. I have wanted a Keurig since they came on the market. The trick is convincing my accountant husband who doesn’t drink coffee that owning a Keurig is a necessity, not a want, but a need.
*Enter Roger from Green Mountain Coffee* Roger overheard the “you really need a Keurig” conversation and after chatting for a bit we realized that we have a connection outside of BlogHer. It’s a small world after all, huh? After chatting for a bit, Roger, announces that he is going to send me a Keurig! I really thought I was going to cry. Smaller companies, like Green Mountain, have such big hearts. They aren’t a huge brand, although they’re well known in the industry for bringing us the beauty that is Keurig, but they came from humble beginnings like the rest of us. They do appreciate the work some of us do and it’s not just lip service. It’s a good reminder that at the end of the day we’re all real people with real lives.
More to come later…but thank you again, Roger, and Keurig for the lovely brew this morning.
